to Expand Transit Access in Hernando County


(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County Transit Services (TheBus) is excited to announce the launch of two new bus routes, Route 7 and Route 8, starting today, Tuesday, September 2, 2025. These additions are part of TheBus’ ongoing commitment to improving mobility, connecting neighborhoods, and supporting access to shopping, healthcare, and employment centers.
Route 7 – US 41 Corridor

  • Route 7 begins at the Walmart on US 41 and travels south to Spring Hill Drive, then west to the Suncoast Crossing Hub near the airport. From there, it returns to US 41, continuing south to serve Masaryktown, then heads west on County Line Road with its final stop at Publix at Avalon.

Route 8 – County Line Connector
  • Route 8 starts at Walmart on US 19 and Spring Hill Blvd., heads south on US 19, and then east on County Line Road. Key stops include East Road, Medical Blvd. near Tampa General Hospital Spring Hill, and ends at Publix at Avalon. The return trip also includes a stop at Pasco-Hernando State College (PHSC) instead of East Road.
