Hernando County Government Launches Strategic Planning Process
with Community Engagement Opportunities

(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County Government is excited to announce the initiation of a comprehensive Strategic Plan aimed at guiding the county’s development and improving the quality of life for its residents. The plan will serve as a roadmap for the county’s growth and the delivery of services over the next several years. Hernando County has engaged the USF Florida Institute of Government and SPC Collaborative Labs to facilitate this project.
Hernando County is actively engaging residents, businesses, and stakeholders in the creation of this plan through a series of community outreach efforts and feedback opportunities. The strategic planning process will involve identifying key priorities, setting measurable goals, and implementing solutions that address the most pressing needs of the county.
“We are committed to ensuring that our community's voices are heard as we develop a blueprint for Hernando County’s future,” said Jeff Rogers, Hernando County Administrator. “This Strategic Plan will help us focus on both short-term and long-term initiatives to improve services, strengthen infrastructure, and ensure sustainable development.”
Community Engagement Session: Your Opportunity to Get Involved
Hernando County is encouraging residents to participate in the development of the Strategic Plan through a series of public meetings and engagement sessions.
The first Community Engagement Session will be held on December 18, 2024, from 5:30 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at the Hernando County Utilities Department (15365 Cortez Blvd, Brooksville, FL 34613).
During this 1.5-hour session, the SPC Collaborative Labs team will facilitate a collaborative citizen engagement session to inform attendees of their role in the strategic planning process and provide guidance on how to stay engaged throughout the process. This will be an opportunity for community members to ask questions, provide feedback, and contribute ideas to help shape the future of Hernando County.
“Public input is critical to the success of this plan,” said Toni Brady, Deputy County Administrator. “We encourage everyone to attend this session to learn more about how they can be part of the process, share their priorities, and help ensure that the Strategic Plan reflects the needs and vision of our community.”
How to Participate:
In addition to attending the public meeting, residents are invited to submit their feedback and ideas online via the county’s dedicated Strategic Plan webpage at www.EngageHernando.com/StrategicPlan. The website will feature interactive tools for community members to share thoughts and priorities directly with county leaders.
The input gathered during the planning process throughout these sessions will play an essential role in shaping the strategic priorities and guiding the county’s vision over the coming years.
