Hernando County Launches Hernando DOGE to Enhance
Government Efficiency and Promote Civic Engagement
Open Meetings Scheduled Twice Monthly to Encourage Community Involvement
(Brooksville, FL) – The Hernando County Board of County Commissioners announces the successful launch of a new advisory board, Hernando DOGE (Delegation on Government Efficiency). Hernando DOGE is designed to further promote efficient use of taxpayer funds and transparency in County government.
The Hernando DOGE advisory board’s purpose is to conduct reviews of County government operations, financial policies, and regulations for the purpose of identifying cost-saving measures, improving taxpayer value, and streamlining bureaucracy. The Hernando DOGE advisory board will review County operations and expenditures to recommend efficiency improvements and cost-saving opportunities. This advisory board will also examine ordinances, regulations, and procedures to suggest eliminations or updates to redundant or outdated requirements.
The Hernando DOGE advisory board holds open meetings twice a month, typically on the first and third Mondays at 4:00 PM. The initial meeting was held on June 30, 2025. These sessions take place at the Hernando County Utilities Department, located at 15365 Cortez Blvd., Brooksville, FL 34613. The public is encouraged to attend and participate, fostering greater community involvement in county operations.
