Hernando County Housing and Supportive Services to Host a Community Event for Residents Experiencing Homelessness
(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County Housing and Supportive Services will host a community support event for residents experiencing homelessness on Tuesday, January 27, 2026. Meals will be provided on-site, along with free bags containing essential toiletries.
Residents without housing are invited to visit any of the following locations to receive meals and supplies:
- People Helping People- 1396 Kass Circle, Spring Hill, Florida
- NAMI Hernando- 4030 Commercial Wy., Spring Hill, Florida
- Elks Lodge- 210 E Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. Blvd., Brooksville, Florida
- Hernando Mentorship Empowerment- 209 Ponce De Leon Blvd., Brooksville, Florida
Transportation Information:
Transportation directly to the event locations will not be provided; however, Hernando County Transit Services (TheBus) will operate on its regular routes. For route information, visit www.HernandoCounty.us/living-here/transit-thebus.
Point In Time (PIT) Count:
During the event, Hernando County Housing and Supportive Services will record the total number of individuals attending. The Point In Time (PIT) Count will help secure federal funding to support programs and resources aimed at addressing homelessness in Hernando County.
