Demolition and Improvements Scheduled at Linda Pedersen Park
(Brooksville, FL) – Hernando County Government will begin demolition work at Linda Pedersen Park later this month as part of ongoing site improvements and structural evaluations.
A contractor has been hired to demolish the former Port Authority building located within the park. Preparations for demolition will begin August 18, 2025, through August 22, 2025, with demolition and site restoration scheduled from August 25, 2025 through August 29, 2025. During this time, the public is asked to use caution in and around the work zones and follow any posted signage. Please see the map below for the construction zone.
Structural Analysis of Linda Pedersen Observation Tower
In addition to the demolition project, a structural analysis of the Linda Pedersen Observation Tower is currently underway. The County expects to receive a structural integrity report within the coming weeks.
Boardwalk Construction Update
Hernando County is actively in the process of hiring a new contractor to complete the project. Updates on construction timelines and reopening will be shared as soon as they become available.
