CITY OF BROOKSVILLE PROCLAIMS MUNICIPAL CLERK’S WEEK

Brooksville, Florida (May 8, 2024) – At the May 6, 2024, City Council Meeting, the City Council proclaimed May 5- May 11, 2024, Municipal Clerks’ Week. In addition, Florida Association of City Clerks (FACC), the professional association for Florida’s municipal clerks, is celebrating its 55th anniversary. The Municipal Clerk Office maintains public records and vital statistics among other duties. Historically, the Municipal Clerk is noted as one of the earliest public servants dating back to 1272 AD. In the City of Brooksville, the Clerk’s role is to maintain the integrity of the legislative process, through the dissemination of information concerning legislative and policy decisions. The main function of the City Clerk's office is to act as the official keeper of City records. City Clerk, Jennifer Battista, has served in this capacity for 6 years, and worked for the city for 25+ years. Deputy Clerk, Lisa Morris, has served in this capacity for 3 years. The City of Brooksville applauds and recognizes both members of the Clerk’s office and all municipal clerks for the vital services they perform and their exemplary dedication to the communities they represent.
