CITY OF BROOKSVILLE ANNOUNCES 2024 HOLIDAY AND MEETING SCHEDULES
On December 4, 2023, during a regular City Council Meeting, the Brooksville City Council adopted the 2024 Holiday and Meeting Schedules. All regular City Council meetings are scheduled on the first and third Mondays of each month at 7:00 pm in Council Chambers unless otherwise indicated. The following months are modified to account for a holiday:
• January – One CRA meeting on Monday, January, 8, 2024; one City Council meeting on Monday, January 8, 2024; a workshop may be scheduled for Monday, January 22, 2024.
• February – One CRA meeting on Monday February 8, 2024; one City Council meeting held on Monday, February 8, 2024; a potential special meeting scheduled for Monday, February 26, 2024.
• March - One City Council meeting held on Monday, March 4, 2024; one City Council meeting held on Monday, March 18, 2024.
• April– One CRA meeting on Monday, April, 1, 2024; one City Council meeting on Monday, April 1, 2024; a workshop may be scheduled for Monday, April 22, 2024.
• May - One City Council meeting held on Monday, May 6, 2024; one City Council meeting held on Monday, May 20, 2024
• June - One City Council meeting held on Monday, June 3, 2024; one City Council meeting held on Monday, June 17, 2024; one Special Meeting (budget) held on Monday, June 24, 2024.
• July - One City Council meeting held on Monday, July 1, 2024; one CRA meeting on Monday, July 15, 2024; one City Council meeting held on Monday, July 15, 2024; a special meeting (budget) scheduled for Monday, July 29, 2024.
• August – One City Council meeting held on Monday, August 5, 2024; a special meeting (budget) scheduled for Monday August 12, 2024 at 3:00 pm; one City Council meeting held on Monday, August 19, 2024.
• September – A a public budget hearing scheduled on Wednesday, September 4, 2024, at 5:01 pm and a final budget hearing on Monday, September 16, 2024 at 6:30 pm.
• October – One CRA meeting on Monday, October 7, 2024; one City Council meeting held on Monday, October 7, 2024; one City Council meeting held on Monday, October 21, 2024; a special meeting may be scheduled for Monday, October 28, 2024 at 6:00 pm.
• November – Once City Council Meeting on Monday, November 4, 2024 and one City Council Meeting on Monday, November 18, 2024.
• December – Once City Council Meeting on Monday, December 9, 2024.
The City will observe twelve major, national holidays and all City of Brooksville government offices will be closed on the 2024 Holiday as listed below.
In addition, the City’s Sanitation Division has released the 2024 Holiday Sanitation Collection Schedule and Recycling Schedule. The City’s solid waste pick-up is split geographically, and the weekly residential and commercial solid waste curbside collection normally occurs on either Monday and Thursday or Tuesday and Friday. The solid waste pick-up schedule will be adjusted during months when a holiday is observed and is based on what day of the week the holiday falls; see schedule below. Recycling pick-up occurs the first and third Wednesday of each month. If a holiday falls on either of those weeks, recycling is picked-up on the second and fourth Wednesday of that month. Commercial dumpster collection is scheduled per the customer’s needs. Boom truck service (yard debris, furniture, and bulk items) is available to City residents, if within the size limitation of two cubic yards or less and occurs once a week on the residential curbside collection schedule. Boom truck service is provided at no charge to properties paying the County Solid Waste Assessment. Properties not paying the County Solid Waste Assessment will be charged fees for the boom truck service.
