About Us
The May-Stringer Heritage Museum is a 3-story, 14 room Victorian home built circa 1860. It is located in downtown Brooksville just off the intersection of US Hwy 41 and Alternate SR 50 at the top of the hill. The museum is open for tours Tuesday - Saturday 11 AM to 3 PM. A donation of $8.00 per adult; $5.00 children is requested. The museum also hosts ghost tours on Friday and Saturday nights. Reservations are required for the ghost tours by calling 352-556-9571.
The 1885 Train Depot is the original Brooksville depot ($8.00 adults; $5.00 children) and has been maintained as a museum and available for tours. The Countryman OneRoom schoolhouse ($5.00 adult; $2.00 children) was build beside the depot and depicts school life in the mid 1800's. Both museums are located on Russell St in Brooksville. Visit our website for information on open hours and tour times as the schedule does change.
