Have you ever thought of putting your memories down on paper? Join us at the Hernando County Public Library for our ongoing monthly writing workshop, “Writing Your Life Stories.” All participants will have an opportunity to share their memories with others, try some writing exercises, and get tips for writing their personal history.
Instead of focusing on publication, these workshops will be geared toward writing for yourself, your family, and your friends. Come and have fun meeting new people and sharing your memories and life stories. This is a fun and informal program where a majority of the time is spent writing about a particular life memory through the use of writing prompts for about 15 – 20 minutes followed by optional sharing of the writing. The primary focus of this group is to serve as an inspiration and to provide the opportunity to listen to others’ life stories which often brings to mind forgotten memories of your own. Helpful tips and resources are also provided. Writing by hand is encouraged, but you may bring a laptop if you prefer.
“Writing Your Life Stories” is for anybody with an interest in writing about their lives. It is held on the second and fourth Wednesdays of each month from 10:15 a.m. until 11:45 a.m. at the West Hernando Branch Library (6335 Blackbird Avenue, Brooksville, Florida 34613). Registration is recommended as space is limited. Meetings in February will be on February 11 and February 25 beginning at 10:15 a.m.
