Holy Thursday service

Nativity Lutheran Church, an ELCA member, will have their Holy Thursday worship service at 6:00pm.
Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ when he broke bread and poured wine as his body and blood and commanded his disciples to do the same in memory of him. This way, he established the sacrament of Holy  Communion (a.k.a. the Eucharist or Sacrament of the Altar) prior to his arrest and crucifixion.  According to tradition, Jesus celebrated the dinner as a Passover feast. Christ would fulfill His role as the innocent Lamb of the Passover celebrating the "exodus" from slavery to sin to the Promised Land of eternal life in him. During that meal, Jesus washed his disciples' feet as a sign of servant leadership. During the service, there will be an opportunity for those who so desire to enjoy the ritual and receive the foot-washing.
