PREVENTING IDENTITY THEFT AND SCAMS AMONG RETIREES
Retirees in Southwest Florida now have the opportunity to learn how to prevent identity theft and becoming a victim of current scams thanks to Hodges University and a generous donation from AARP of Florida.
Carrie Kerskie, director of Hodges’ Identity Fraud Institute, views the event as an opportunity to “educate consumers about identity theft and current scams.” In addition, Kerskie encourages retirees living in Southwest Florida to participate in this event, saying, “The Identity Fraud Institute at Hodges University believes that education is key in the fight against fraud, scams and identity theft. By attending this event, you will become better prepared to detect, prevent and mitigate fraud and identity theft.”
During the hour-long sessions, attendees will hear from a panel of experts focusing on fraud and identity theft protection. Panelists for the events include experts from the Collier County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Department of Agriculture & Consumer Services, Hodges University, CPR Tools, Inc., IRS Criminal Investigation, CyberSecurity Defense Solutions and Vernon Litigation Group. Jeff Lytle, retired Naples Daily News editorial page editor and TV host, will serve as the moderator for both events.
