Join the effort to restore the Springs! The Weeki Wachee Springs State Park needs your assistance to help clean the springs. Volunteers, particularly certified scuba divers, are needed to remove Lyngbya from the spring. Non-divers can participate by removing Lyngbya in shallow areas, carrying bags of removed Lyngbya to flatbed trailers and removing exotic plants from the land. First-time volunteers are asked to arrive 15 minutes early; dress appropriately for entering the water. Divers must be included under the liability of a dive shop; we will be happy to connect you with a participating dive shop. For information and to participate, email Toby.Brewer@dep.state.fl.us.
