Come to your Library’s Great Decisions program to discuss and debate the most critical foreign policy issues facing the United States today. Participants will be given a briefing book prior to the meeting. Each meeting begins with a 20 minute video on the topic, and then the video and the readings are discussed.
The topic for the May discussion group is “Sectarianism in the Middle East” Many of the current conflicts in the Middle East have been attributed to sectarianism, a politicization of ethnic and religious identity. How does sectarianism fit into a larger narrative of the Middle East, and what is the U.S. doing about it?
The Great Discussions group will meet on Thursday, May 21 from 11 a.m. until noon at the West Hernando Branch Library, located at 6335 Blackbird Avenue, Brooksville, Florida 34613. Please contact the library for a copy of the briefing book.
