You're invited to join one of two rides to celebrate the Good Neighbor Trail as part of the annual Brooksville Cycling Classic.
Ride #1: The Good Neighbor Trail Roll-Stroll, led by Brooksville City Manager Jenene Norman-Vacha, is an out-and-back pedal on the distance of the existing trail, a total of approximately seven miles. The pace is easy and perfect for riders of all ages. Children must be accompanied by an adult rider.
Ride #2: The Good Neighbor Tour, led by Tampa Bay Times reporter/columnist Dan DeWitt, the tour shows how the trail can launch bike riders into the scenic eastern Hernando County area. The ride leaves Russell Street and proceeds to the Weatherly Road trailhead, then travels north and east on rural roads, south on McIntyre where the ride will rejoin the Good Neighbor Trail for the return into Brooksville. The pace will be moderate, and the total ride is approximately 25 miles, with some hills. Please note that once riders leave the trail at Weatherly, the roads will be open to traffic and riders must follow the rules of the road.
