Florida Wildlife Corridor Mural Sign Unveiling
This unveiling ceremony will be held on Saturday, Sept 7th at 12:30pm in front of City Hall in downtown Brooksville. This unveiling ceremony is part of a statewide Mural Campaign that brings attention to the Florida Wildlife Corridor, particularing the Brooksville area which is a top priority for Corridor conservation.
The mural was painted by Ocala artist Justin Alsedek and features animals and plants found in the Corridor. He added some things specific to the “Brooksville Ridge” area, including:
- The Osceola Turkey
- The Brooksville Bellflower – an endangered plant only found in this area and the official flower of Brooksville And a nod to the Tangerine, the official fruit of Brooksville due to its historic contribution to the economic prosperity of Brooksville.
- It also points to the fact that the Wildlife Corridor continues to be a powerhouse for Florida’s economy.
