As you all know, opioid abuse in Florida’s Fifth Judicial Circuit is a serious problem. The Circuit 5 SEN Taskforce will host a Circuit Summit on April 12, 2019 - Education & Beyond: Supporting Substance Exposed Newborn Communities at the Wildwood Community Center, Wildwood, FL for hospital, nonprofits, treatment providers, healthcare professionals, law enforcement officers, legal professionals, prevention coalitions and experts, early learning coalitions state agencies and all others involved in caring for opioid addicted pregnant patients and their newborns. The intended mission of this conference is to engage all concerned with this issue in Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter counties to showcase innovative ways our counties can address the impact of the opioid epidemic on their pregnant patients and their newborns. The Hernando Community Coalition spearheads the Circuit 5 Task Force and is seeking Hernando County Sponsors.
