THE SHOW:
Irving Berlin’s Annie Get Your Gun (1999 Broadway Revival version) is a fast-paced, comedic musical set in the theatrical world of Buffalo Bill’s Wild West Show. Featuring iconic songs like “There’s No Business Like Show Business” and “Anything You Can Do,” the show explores themes of identity, gender roles, and self-worth told through the story of sharpshooter Annie Oakley and her rivalry-turned-romance with Frank Butler.
Our production will feature color-conscious and gender-conscious casting. We encourage performers of all races, ethnicities, gender identities, body types, and abilities to audition.
AUDITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Prepare 1 minute of a classic musical theatre song (preferably Golden Age or folk style). Please be ready with a background track (we have a bluetooth speaker you can pair too) for your song as no accompanist will be provided. Acappella auditions will not be permitted.
- Be prepared to read from the script (sides provided at audition).
- Dance/Movement will be part of auditions. Please wear appropriate shows and supportive clothing.
- Those auditioning for Annie, Frank, Tommy, or Winnie must be comfortable with on-stage kissing scenes.
