ICES Local Coordinators use their networking skills and community knowledge to make a positive impact on the lives of exchange students from all over the world. They also enhance the lives of the people in their communities by introducing them to new cultures, languages, and ideas. Local Coordinators develop and maintain relationships with local high schools and families in the community in order to promote the program and recruit host families. He or she will maintain contact with families and students throughout the year to provide support and assistance.
This position is flexible and can range from a few hours per week to a new lifestyle – you decide! Local Coordinators are compensated per student placement, and receive additional payment for supervising students throughout the program. ICES also offers international travel opportunities, generous bonus incentives, and free training. The ideal candidate is a motivated self-starter who has strong ties to his/her community, experience working with teens, and a valid driver’s license. He or she must be able to work a flexible schedule and must be able to pass a background check.
*Establishes and maintains strong relationships with local high schools *
*Promotes the program within the community in order to recruit host families
*Follows up on host family leads, either self-generated or provided by ICES
*Screens potential host families in accordance with U.S. Dept. of State regulations
*Maintains frequent contact with students, families, and schools throughout the year
*Provides support and assistance to students/families throughout the duration of the program
*Maintains weekly contact with Regional Director
*Attends necessary training sessions
Valid driver’s license required, Must pass the required background check, motivated self-starter, available to work flexible hours, volunteer / community-minded, experience working with teens a plus
