The Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce has more than 975 members representing various business and community interests. It unites hundreds of businesses, professionals and individuals, creating a unique organization that works to build business connections and advance our members success in business. For over 95 years, the Chamber with its committees, councils, staff and valuable members- works with county and city officials, local businesses and the community at large to promote the local economy and enhance Hernando County’s quality of life.
Greater Hernando County Chamber of Commerce has an immediate opening for an Event  Coordinator.

We’re looking for someone who:
  • Coordinates and supports the Chamber’s programs and events including reoccurring networking events, signature events and other activities.
  • Is a team member with strong organizational skills who is passionate in creating marketing/ branding experiences for businesses.
  • Enthusiastic, high energy, self-driven with a “Can-Do”/ “Do whatever it takes to get the job done” attitude
  • Sees the “big picture”, makes natural connections between like ideas, trends, and members
  • Pays extreme attention to detail
  • Is creative, practical, goal oriented, and enjoys leading and coordinating others.
  • Strong customer service and sales focus with relationship-building abilities with high-profile partners, members, business partners and volunteers
  • Demonstrate the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously with minimal supervision
  • Minimum Associates degree and 2 + years of event related experience preferred
  • Intermediate to Advanced Level Computer Skills – knowledge of Microsoft Office
  • Must possess excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Stellar customer service practices to work with staff, Board of Directors, volunteers, members and the general public.
  • Working knowledge of Hernando County government/ business beneficial, but not mandatory.
  • Skill in Social Media marketing including Internet, Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other platforms
  • Full Time Position with benefits
  • Office Hours- M-F 8:30am-5:00pm.
  • Must have flexibility for occasional early morning, evening and weekend hours.
