3rd Annual Golf Tournament
Villages Honor Flight is but one of 9 Honor Flight Network chapters in the State of Florida. Sixteen million men and women served in America’s armed forces during World War II; by the best estimates, only about 1.2 million still survive. Since the World War II Memorial opened in 2004, Honor Flight, directly or through its chapters, has taken over 110,000 veterans to Washington, DC to see their memorial. Veterans are transported without cost or expense to them and the guardians and staffs who accompany them pay their own expenses. All World War II veterans are encouraged to apply. Villages Honor Flight serves the veteran communities of Citrus, Hernando, Lake, Marion and Sumter Counties, and have been doing so since we were chartered in 2011. We receive no government funding for our flights or operations. The volunteers who operate the hub are all unpaid. All of our operating funds and veteran flight costs are derived from contributions and gifts from individuals and benefactors, and we desperately need the assistance of all Hernando County businesses and residents.
